Career Guides: Ann Marie Cooper

Ann Marie has over 10 years of experience as an executive coach, career coach and learning and development consultant, following a successful career in the financial and professional services sectors. She was Director of Learning & Development for a major law firm and played a key role in the evolution of the organisation as a whole. Ann Marie uses her business experience together with her understanding of human behaviour and organisational dynamics to coach senior and aspiring leaders to maximise potential, and achieve personal goals. 

Ann Marie was introduced to Position Ignition early in 2011 and it soon became clear that we shared a passion for supporting individuals in realising their potential and addressing career and life choices against the context of continually changing organisations.

Ann Marie’s career began at Barclays, which is where she gained broad commercial experience before deciding to specialise in Human Resources Development.  She joined Linklaters as the first Graduate Recruitment and Development Manager rising to be Director of Learning & Development during a period of significant growth and change.

Ann Marie focuses on developing and harnessing talent in individuals, teams and organisations. She coaches and guides individuals through change, growth and transition, supporting their emotional journey and building their confidence to address challenging strategic, business or personal issues or decisions. Ann Marie's areas of expertise include transition to new roles, career coaching and change, leadership development and supporting wellbeing, through building resilience and mental toughness.

Ann Marie specialises in the Professional and Financial Services sectors, however she has also been involved and is greatly motivated by work within the Property, Public, Education and Charities sectors.

Ann Marie is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and holds a History degree (BA (Hons)) from London University, a Masters degree in Education, Training and Development (MEd) from Sheffield University and a Certificate in Coaching from Henley Business School. She is a member of Henley Business School's external faculty and is a Henley Registered Coach. She is accredited as an Executive Coach by the Association for Professional Executive Coaching & Supervision (APECS).
