10 Steps to Building a Successful Personal Brand

Building a strong personal brand that we are proud of is becoming increasingly important in today's competitive market. Given the rise in the use of social media platforms and the increasing ease at which we each communicate with each other and compete for jobs, we each need to learn how to create a personal brand. Here are 10 steps to developing a successful personal brand. For more tips take a look through our 125 Personal Branding Tips eBook.

    1. Think of yourself as a product. When you buy a product, you scrutinize its applicability to your need. You’re interested in its benefits, its features and its price. Anybody looking at you walks through a similar cycle of evaluation.

    2. Identify brands that you think are fantastic. They may be so because you think them to be powerful, emotionally subtle or innovative. Whatever it is that you find compelling in these brands, do your

10 Secrets to Knowing Your Interviewer

When preparing for an interview it can be very interesting and useful to think about it from the interviewer’s point of view. They will be looking for particular qualities and behaviours in the job candidates and there will be a reason why they’re looking for those things.  Understanding the interviewer helps you to make deductions as to who they want, allowing you to show them you are that person. Find out who’ll be interviewing you by referring back to the invitation email or phoning HR and take it from there.

    Research Their History

To find out where someone is coming from, you have to know where they’ve been. An interviewer’s own work experience and areas of expertise will give you clues about what they’re interested in and what they know about. This will help prepare you for the kinds of question they’re going to ask and the type of answers they’ll relate to. Go to their LinkedIn profile to check out their work history and

Why Career Webinars Are A Good Way to Learn

Career webinars are easily accessible. You can either attend the sessions live or you can listen to a recording after the event.

Webinars can be visual. Perhaps the attendees can see the webinar presenters on webcam or maybe the presenters are sharing a series of slides with the attendees’ screens.

Sometimes the webinars just rely on audio material and this in itself can be very powerful. A typical webinar does tend to be short, 45 to 90 minutes on average. This allows it to have a big impact on people by being concise and to the point.
