Business Development: Yolande Leroy
Yolande joined Position Ignition at the start of 2011, partnering the founders in business development. She and Position Ignition were drawn together because of her interest in helping individuals and businesses through transitions and uncertainty. This, combined with her commercial acumen and enthusiasm for building relationships, makes her a key member of the team.
Yolande has 25 years international experience in all aspects of professional coaching, team leadership, executive search, change management and transformation. She has consulted at board and senior executive levels in HR, finance, communications, marketing and operations, across a wide range of commercial and industrial sectors.
Her early career was in the media and events sectors, in sales and in marketing roles (with VNU Business Publications, then EMAP Exhibitions & Events). She later went on to build a strong track record of successes in coaching and executive search, starting with the AIM-listed recruitment business Media Appointments, part of Saatchi-owned Megalomedia, then PA Consulting Group, a global management consultancy, and over the last decade through to 2009, GBR Search/Gundersen Partners, a privately owned global search firm.
In 2010, Yolande set up her own business, Leroy and Associates, which now works in conjunction with Position Ignition to open up opportunities in the market and to provide innovative solutions to the strategic HR challenges currently facing organisations. By working in partnership with Position Ignition, she is able to capitalise on her experience in supporting businesses undergoing change – whether forced, due to changing market conditions, or changing manpower needs – and in helping individuals wanting to take ownership of, and choreograph, their career.
Yolande is an experienced career guide, coach and mentor. She enjoys working with top-teams as well as individuals and is recognised for her highly creative, persuasive and tireless approach, and her ability to coax ideas and contribution from others. As such, she has earned an excellent reputation for creating and delivering successful people solutions at the top level, as well as nurturing, developing and retaining client and candidate relationships over the long term.
Yolande is also greatly interested in all forms of movement and wellbeing, especially dance and classical ballet. She continues to remain actively involved in ballet classes at a London studio. She is currently working to combine the principles of dance movement, training and discipline with her professional coaching and mentoring work in a more holistic approach.
Yolande studied and holds a degree from Goldsmiths’ College, University of London.
